Deed Peter Northen from Mary Alderson
March 4, 1791
This indenture made the 4th day of March in
the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one between Mary
Alderson, Executrix of William Alderson, deceased, of the County of Richmond
and Parish of Lunenburgh of the one part and Peter Northen of the Parish and
County aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said Mary Alderson Executrix of
William Alderson for the inconsideration of he sum of thirty five pounds
specie to her in hand paid by the said Peter Northen, at or before the
ensealing and delivery of these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell
unto the said Peter Northen, his heirs, executors, administrators and
assigns all that piece or parcel of land situate. Laying and being in the
County aforesaid and Parish of Lunenburgh in the tenure and occupation of
Peter Northen, containing by estimation twelve acres be the same more of
less and is bounded as followeth (Viz) Beginning at a white oak corner with
William Northern and in the Reverend W. Gibernes line at the upper corner.
Thence with William Northern’s line to a white oak standing by the side of
Benjamin Bramham’s mill road. Thence up the said mill road to the main
county. Thence along the said county to a hickory standing on the side of
said road corner with the Reverend W. Gibernes and the land of George
Berrick deceased. Thence with the said Gibernes line to the beginning white
oak. Together with all houses, edifices, buildings, gardens, orchards,
woods, underwoods, ways, water, water sources, privileges, commodities and
appurtenances whatsoever belonging to the said premises or in anywise
appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders,
rents and profits thereof. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of
land and all and singular the premises with the appurtenances unto the said
Peter Northen, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns from the day
next before the day of the date of these presents, for and during unto the
end of time forever by virtue of these presents and for the ___ for
transferring uses unto possession off the same Pete Northen may be in the
actual possession of the premises thereby be the better _____ to accept,
take and receive a grant, release and conformation of the reversion in free
freehold and inheritance thereof to him and his heirs forever. In witness
whereof the parties just above named to these presents __________

above written

Received of the within named Peter Northen the within
mentioned sum of thirty-five pounds species, the consideration mentioned in
the within Deed to be paid by him to me in the perfection thereof, witness

This Deed of Bargain and Sale from Mary Alderson,
Executrix of William Alderson, deceased of the one part to Peter Northen of
the other part with the receipt thereon endorsed was proved in open Court by
the Oaths of the Witnesses thereto and admitted to Record.
