Northen
Court
Ordered in the Case of Bryant v. Bryant
April 6,
1846
“This indenture made and entered into this 6th
day of April 1846, between William S. Northen Commissioner under a decree of
Richmond County Court in the name of Bryant against Bryant of the one part
and Robert F. Northen of the other part, whereas under the decree aforesaid
pronounced on the 2nd day of December 1845, the said William S.
Northen was appointed a Commissioner as aforesaid to make sale of a tract of
land on which Alexander Bryant died seized on the terms expressed and
declared in the said decree and whereas after notice of the time and place
of sale by advertisements at Farnham Church, Totusky Bridge and Richmond
Court House for more than twenty days notice previous to the day of sale,
the said William S. Northen did on the first day of January 1846 at Farnham
Church in the County of Richmond exposed to sale at public auction the said
tract of land, whereupon Robert F. Northen became the purchaser at the price
of four hundred dollars and whereas the said sale has been confirmed by the
court aforesaid and by a decree of the same in the same suit, the said
William S. Northen has been directed to make and execute to the said Robert
F. Northen a deed for the said tract of land. Now this indenture,
Witnesseth that the said William S. Northen, Commissioner, as aforesaid for
and inconsideration of the premises, especially in consideration of the said
sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid or secured to be paid at or
before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and by these presents doth
bargain and sell and convey to the said Robert F. Northen all that tract of
land in the bill and proceedings mentioned of which Alexander Bryant died
seized being all of the land decreed to be sold as aforesaid. To have and
to hold unto him the said Robert F. Northen, his heirs and assigns forever,
together with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto in anywise
belonging.”
In witness whereof the said William F. Northen has
hereto set his hand and affixed his seal on the day and in the year first
above written.

At a Court of Monthly Session held for Richmond County
at the Courthouse on Monday, the 4th day of January 1847. This
Deed of bargain and sale from Wm. S. Northen, Comr. to Robert F. Northen was
this day presented, acknowledged in open court by the said Wm. S. Northen
and ordered to be recorded.
