EDWARD JONES NORTHERN

Son of George Northern-Margaret “Peggy”Jones

 

Edward Jones Northern SR  -1774 – 1837   1st cousin once removed of Thomas Yeatman Northern

 

He was in the War of 1812, and was Captain of the company known as "Capt. Edward Jones Northen's Company", in the 41st Virginia Regiment of militia. This company, which consisted of 39 officers and men, was in the service of the United States in Northampton Co., VA, under the command of Col. Vincent Bramham, from July 21st to Oct. 5 1814.

Father of Henry Green Northern

Twice in his career he was a soldier. In the War of 1812 he was a private in a company which was for a time stationed at Point Peter, on the St. Mary's River, on the southern boundary of Georgia.  Again in 1861 he raised a company of Infantry known as Stock's Volunteers and entered the Confederate
