will of Augusta J. Northern dated 12 Apr 1863, proved in June County Court
1863. Webster Co Will book 1, p 151.
In the name of God amen. I Augusta.
J. Northern of the county of Webster and state of Kentucky being of weak
body yet of sound mind do ordain this as my last will and testament.
First it is my will and wish that
all of my just debts be paid including my funeral expenses out of my
estate.
Secondly it is my will and wish
that my beloved brother Thomas Y. Northern have the amount of money in his
hands belonging to me, I not knowing the precise amount.
Thirdly it is my will and wish
also that my beloved brother John S. Northern have the amount of money in
his hands belonging to me supposed to be about one hundred dollars.
Fourthly it is my will and desire
that my beloved sisters Harriett H. Laughlin Elizabeth C. Lucas and Mary
N. Givens, have the remainder of my estate equally divided among them that
is to wit, that my Negro girl Ann be sold to one of my sisters at a fair
valuation the proceeds thereof after paying my just debts &c. be
equally divided among them.
Lastly it is my will and desire
that my friend M. C. Dorris act as my executor in carrying out and
enforcing this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of April 1863.
