Will
Margaret Northen
April 1799
In the name of God, Amen. I, Margaret Northen, of the
Parish of North Farnham and County of Richmond being sick of body but of a
sound and perfect mind and memory do make and constitute this my last Will
and Testament in manner and form following. After my body being decently
buried, I commit my soul to Almighty God who gave it, do dispose of my
worldly estate as follows (to wit):
Item: I give and devise to my beloved mother and my
children that is now unmarried my dwelling house, kitchen and garden during
my mother’s natural life and after her death to such of my children as shall
be single as long as they shall continue to .
Item: I give all my lands not before mentioned to be
equally divided between all my children, Edward J. Northen, Winifred Dobyns,
Edmund Northen, Barbara B. Northen, Samuel Northen, and Polly Northen.
Item: I do five to my daughter Polly Northen one bed
and furniture to her and her heirs forever.
I leave my beloved sons Edward J. Northen and Edmund
Northen executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof we
have hereunto set my hand and seals this __ day of April in the year of our
Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine.
